Evans (1931-1987), an iconic American furniture designer, sculptor, and artist contributed to the 1970’s American Craft Movement. His Brutalist-inspired sculpted metal furnishings distinguish him from others in the world of design and his relationship with Directional Furniture set a unique standard for creative manufacture; insisting every piece be made and finished by hand, and supervised by the artist at each step of production, one piece at a time. Cityscape is the final series designed by Paul Evans. Cityscape flattens the decorative elements and focuses on the play of light over pure form.
